About RSO

The Canadian Association of Rally Sport (CARS) was formed in 1992, after the dissolution of CASC (at the time the national governing body for all motorsports in Canada). Under CARS, five regional bodies were given the mandate to oversee rallying: Atlantic Region Motorsport, RallySport Quebec, Rally West, Rally Pacific Motorsports, and RallySport Ontario (RSO).

RSO is run by an elected Board of Directors, whose directive is to oversee and sanction the various rally sports in Ontario – performance (stage) rally, navigational (TSD) rally, rally sprint, and rallycross. Other functions of the Board include administering the Ontario Performance Rally Championship and the Ontario Road Rally Championship, working to grow the sport, maintaining rulesets for the various disciplines, and providing timing and tracking equipment.
