OPRC Prize Fund for 2024
The Lincoln Electric Rally of the Tall Pines wrapped up the 2024 Ontario Performance Rally Championship, a five event series of closed road performance rallies. The events included Rallye Perce Neige, Shannonville Stages, Black Bear, Rallye Defi and Tall Pines.
Cash prizes for events and the series were sponsored by the Novus Auto Group which includes Clarington Kia, Clarington Hyundai, Ontario Motor Sales (Chevrolet–Cadillac), Marigold Ford–Lincoln, and Durham Harley Davidson. A total of twenty-five thousand dollars was pledged for the series.
Five thousand dollars were committed to each of the two Ontario stand alone events – Shannonville Stages and Black Bear. The remaining fifteen thousand dollars was awarded after Tall Pines. There are certain eligibility requirements to qualify for the prize money.
At Shannonville Stages and Black Bear the prizes were distributed in the following manner:
- First Overall $1,000.00
- Second Overall $600.00
- Third Overall $400.00
- First Two Wheel Drive $1,000.00
- Second Two Wheel Drive $600.00
- Third Two Wheel Drive $400.00
- First Novice $1,000.00
For Shannonville Stages
- Olivier David took first overall and first novice for a total of $2,000.00
- John Hudon was second overall and first in 2WD so took home $1,600.00
- Mark Toufanov was third overall and second 2WD for a total winning of $1000.00
- Jim Morton was third 2WD and received $400.00
For Black Bear,
Overall Driver
- Trevor Pougnet was first for $1,000.00
- Crazy Leo would have had first 2WD and second overall but his high speed factor took him out of eligibility.
- Yohan Tessier got $600.00 for second but generously donated the winnings to Seed 6 and 5B drivers at Tall Pines.
- Jonathan Drake received $400.00 for third overall.
In 2WD
- Mathieu Royer won $1,000.00 for first
- Mark Toufanov $600.00 for second and
- Sean McConnachie $400.00 for third.
- Olivier David – first novice, $1000.00

Overall Driver
- Olivier David – First and first novice $6,000.00
- Jonathan Drake – Second $2,000.00
- Trevor Pougnet-Third $1000.00
2WD
- Mark Toufanov was first and is awarded $3000.00
- Mathieu Royer came second for $2,000.00
- Jonathan Desgroseilliers was third with an award of $1000.00
The $600.00 donated from Black Bear by Yohan Tessier will be distributed amongst seven drivers who were in seed 5B; that’s a rounded up $87.00 each. The drivers are Jeff Lantz, Jim Morton, Eric Vanderwal, Catherine Denmeade, Michal Gielas, Jeremie Thibeault and Zachary Bourassa.

To qualify for year end prizes you must compete in Shannonville and/or Black Bear. You don’t have to join an RSO affiliated club.
